Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

 

  • Coordinates all curricular programs with special emphasis in reading and math.
  • Coordinates instruction related to the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards and related staff development.
  • Represents the school at meetings and conferences relating to instructional issues upon request.
  • Assists with the selection and inservice of instructional methods, materials, and evaluation procedures.
  • Coordinates the testing/assessment program including diagnostic, formative, and summative tests.
  • Assists in the evaluation of student progress by compiling and reviewing the results of school and county tests and state assessments.
  • Assists with the creation of the master schedule and class rosters.
  • Assists in orienting new teachers, educational assistants, and substitutes.
  • Attends scheduled IEP and 504 meetings as required.
  • Assists grade level teams with the planning of instructional activities.
  • Assists the principal in developing and maintaining an effective program of community relations.
  • Serves on the school leadership team.
  • Assists the principal in coordinating the Title I program (if the school is eligible).
  • Assists with parent and community involvement.
  • Assists teachers in providing intervention and enrichment programs.
  • Conducts staff development activities.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the principal.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Three years of successful teaching experience at the appropriate level.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Experience in staff development.
  • Successful human relationship skills as evidenced by previous work experience.   APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

  • This is a 198-day position. Salary is based on the appropriate teachers' scale.
